This ring was made in honor of Halloween. I have always wanted to make a snake ring and I wanted it to be big. I used 20 gauge gold wire as the base and 28 gauge copper wire to weave. I wanted the colors to create a nice contrast. This also helped to create the scale effect. The 28 gauge wire was chosen becauseĀ it makes the scales look more snakeskin like. It is smoother and prevents a bulgy look. This is a wire weaving tutorial.
Make sure to bend the wire in the right direction. Remember that you are making a ring that has to sit on your finger. If you use a ring mandrel, make sure to start onĀ the correct size. Unlike my other rings tutorials where we start a size down.
