DIY Snake ring | Wire weaving tutorial

Make this snake ring using wire

This ring was made in honor of Halloween. I have always wanted to make a snake ring and I wanted it to be big. I used 20 gauge gold wire as the base and 28 gauge copper wire to weave. I wanted the colors to create a nice contrast. This also helped to create the scale effect. The 28 gauge wire was chosen becauseĀ it makes the scales look more snakeskin like. It is smoother and prevents a bulgy look. This is a wire weaving tutorial.

 

Make sure to bend the wire in the right direction. Remember that you are making a ring that has to sit on your finger. If you use a ring mandrel, make sure to start onĀ the correct size. Unlike my other rings tutorials where we start a size down.

0.8mm/20 gauge wire Silver

0.8mm/20 gauge wire Gold

0.3mm/ 28gauge wire Copper

Flush wire cutters (recommended) h

Chain nose pliers
